Torpedoes designated hitter John Aiello put his stamp on his team's 3-1 win over the Borrego Springs Rams. Aiello went 3-4 with a home run and 2 singles for Long Island in the contest. Orlando de la Pena, credited with the win in relief, is now 1-1. He allowed 1 run on 6 hits in 3.2 innings. The save was credited to Saturnino Canejo, his 1st.

The Rams had been locked in a 1-1 tie with the Torpedoes going into the bottom of the fourth inning. That changed quickly when the 18-year old first baseman Rodolfo Vega came to the plate. Vega hit a 2-run home run on a 2-2 changeup from Borrego Springs hurler Eric Torelli. It was Vega's 4th home run of the year.

"I just tried to make good contact," said Vega.

The win puts Long Island at 6-4.
